Guide to Skeleton King

English isn't my native language. So I'm sorry if any grammar mistakes, feel free to point out any mistake.

Why/when should I use Skeleton King?

Use it if you/your team:

Needs some stun to help heroes like Lina/Tormented to land a perfect stun.

Your team want a tank/semi-carry

You can't use support hero well, try use some semi-carry/semi-tank

You are new to DotA, this hero is pretty easy to use, just 1 active skill
Not needed to master some skill needed to aim like Mirana Elune's Arrow, Pudge's hook

You should not use when:
Opposing team got mana burners like Nerubian Assasin, Anti-Mage or some heroes will sure have Diffusal Blades(burn MP!) like Naga Siren, Phantom Lancer etc.

Your team have many carry(Mirana, Morphling, SF..)/tank heroes(Dragon Knight, Centaur Warchief..) they need some support(Warlock, Rhasta..)
Your team need Pushers/Anti-Pushers heroes, choose:(Tinker, Akasha..)

Forewords

First, why I making this guide? I writing this guide is actually for my lots of
friends new to DotA..and this is my first guide..leave some advices/comments..Thx

Introduction

Base stats:Str 22+2.9

Agi 18+1.7

Int 13+1.6

Affiliation: Scourge

Attack Animation: 0.56 / 0.44

Damage: 54 - 56

Casting Animation: 0.35 / 0.51

Armor: 3.6

Base Attack Time: 1.7

Movespeed: 300

Missile Speed: Instant(A melee hero missile speed will be instant)

Attack Range: 128 (melee)

Sight Range: 1800 / 800
Can be found at Scourge(Strength)Tavern

Pros:
No.4 highest strength growth(behind Treant(3.4), Doom/Pudge/Ogre[ogre Primary stat is INT](3.2), Tiny/Tide(3) same str growth with Pandaren/Chaos
Low cooldown 2sec stun skill(8s cd)
Have free aegis in 300, 220, 140cd after used & cost 100-200mp
Have nice critical x2.75, 15% chance
Have lifesteal aura & it does stack to Vladmir & Satanic or other orbs bcoz it juz aura not ORB

Cons:
Low Agi & Int growth
When reincartion cd done but less than 100/150/200 mp will not revive
Lacks some flee-ing skill..when revived..u will sure die coz all enemy sure around ur tomb & prepare to disabled you & send u back to hell..1 stun is not enough sometimes..

Tank
Carry
Ganker(but not a really good one..cause he can help some ally hero like TS, Lina, Mirana etc. to land nice nukes/stuns these guys can simply kills with your help)

Background Story

Once a noble knight protecting his kingdom, the man was thrown into Hell, where he was ripped apart over and over for centuries. Now, Lucifer has thrown him back onto the soil, corrupted and mindless, as King Leoric, the Skeleton King. He marches on, leading his minions with an unfaltering gaze, knowing only one thing: the orders given to him by the dark lord himself. Able to cripple his opponents by drawing power from the fiery depths of hell itself, King Leoric is a major threat on the battlefield. His mighty blade allows him and others in his presence to drain the blood of their enemies. It is said that he is unkillable, and those who are struck down by his hellfire don't wake up again.

Overview of Abilities

Hellfire Blast
Leoric launches a sphere of hellfire from the end of his sword, causing his victim to burst in flames. Deals damage & stuns for 2 seconds.
Level 1:100 damage(75 damage after hero natural 25% spell resistance) 2sec stun
Level 2:150 damage 2sec stun(112.5 damage after hero natural 25% spell resistance)
Level 3:200 damage 2sec stun(150 damage after hero natural 25% spell resistance)
Level 4:250 damage(187.5 damage after hero natural 25% spell resistance)

Notes:
This is 1 of the SK signature skill..

Do not spam this skill..you don hav nice int growth/nice base mp..u have low INT

Juz use it to gank/flee..coz ur mp so low u cant treat it as a nuke

Vampiric Aura
Nearby friendly melee units gain hit points when they hit enemy units.
Level 1:5%(10%) of attack damage
Level 2:10%(16%) of attack damage
Level 3:15%(22%) of attack damage
Level 4:20%(28%) of attack damage
Skill type:Passive
AoE:600

Notes:
Don learn this early game..it coz u help ally pushing in ..
Pushing = ur creep keep near enemy tower bringing u more dangerous to farm

As I said .. it stacks with Vladmirs & Satanic..vlad+sat+vamp = 61%(69%[v6.64])
*Activated Satanic:186%[194%(v6.64)]
( lol..i will mention the item build later dun nervous)

Ranged unit does not gain lifesteal even in 600AoE of the aura

Illusions does NOT gain lifesteal even they are melees
*Got improved @ v6.64:
Vampiric Aura increased from 5/10/15/20% to 10/16/22/28%

Critical Strike
Gives a chance to do more damage on an attack.
Level 1:15% chance to do 1.25x normal damage
Level 2:15% chance to do 1.75x normal damage
Level 3:15% chance to do 2.25x normal damage
Level 4:15% chance to do 2.75x normal damage
Skill type:Passive

Notes:
OMG! if i buy buriza i can have 2.4x+2.75x & 15%+20% = 5.15x & 35%!! NO!!!it does NOT stack with Crystalys/Buriza so never put 1 in ur inventory..

If you have Illusions from rune/manta..it does have critical but they(Manta illu) dealt 33% of your damage & x2.75 example 33% of 100 x 2.75=90.75
Even though ur illusion critical amount is just same as ur hero..but actual dmg is not

It help you to get more lifesteal but get this b4 vamp aura!

ULTIMATE-Reincartion
When killed the Skeleton King will come back to life
Level 1:Revives SK with a delay of 5s, CD 300s, Mana cost 100
Level 2:Revives SK with a delay of 4.5s, CD 220s, Mana cost 150
Level 3:Revives SK with a delay of 4s, CD 140s, Mana cost 200
Skill type:Passive

Notes:
Will revive even if silenced on death!
Will not revive if SK does not have required MP! so make sure ur cd done & have 100/150/200 mp depends on ur skill lv
If SK have aegis & ulti with cd done& required mp..will affect ulti 1st..aegis wont affected
3 lifes if have aegis =)
revives with full hp mp

Despite the overall simplicity of the Skeleton King's skills, he is one of the most dangerous close combat heroes to fight against, and he becomes extremely powerful when equipped with good items. Hellfire Blast is his one active spell, and it allows him to catch and kill enemies. Vampiric Aura and Critical Strike make him deadly in a straight fight; the Skeleton King hits hard and gains life with every attack. Even if Leoric seems to be destroyed, he is still not beaten. This is where his signature ability comes in: Reincarnation. As long as Reincarnation is ready and the Skeleton King has enough mana, he will revive where he fell after a few seconds at full strength. Reincarnation makes the Skeleton King very difficult to defeat, since you essentially have to kill him twice.

Description:
1 level HFB is just for stuns as you c its dmg/cd can consider as a nice nuke..but the thing is SK dun hav nice base INT&Int growth..so only use on escaping/ganks/catch flee heroes..anyway leveling it up just increases dmg..if decrease cd & mp we may
consider pump it.

Early stats is to boost up SK stats...Str=Hp(survivality) Agi=Little AS & Little Armor Int=MPs SK needs..

Why level 4 have 1pt on CS? ermm as u c u can up no other useful skills..u cant up Reinc. @ lv4..Stats too..left HFB/CS/VA..HFB no .. VA no.. then CS it oso improve a little last hit effectiveness..that lv mostly critical 9x-1xx dmg coz juz Lv 1

Reincartion 6 , 14/15, 16 why not 6,11,16? Mana cost increases so please be really care on CD & ur current mana when u dead...

Critical Strike before Vampiric Aura...of coz..if when we lv8 pumping VA will makes push faster = more danger to farm & ur dmg doesnt have such high to steal lifes..so CS 1st is overall nicer than VA..nuff say

**Sometime can use for detect WW hero as you can know they going WW & also nice against PL as he doppel u noe that will be illusion
*I don't recommend buy Magic Stick @ fountain..unless they all heroes sure spam spell get it else check whether who u laning against then buy @ side shops
If you think you dun nid Gauntlets/Mantles..you can direct upgrade magic stick>Magic Wand

Or start with 1-2x Healing Slaves else just 1-2x Tangoes if you feel tango is enough for you to stay @ lane till Core Items & 1-3x Clarity Potions for MPs

Gauntlets/Mantles x2..if you feel want more survivality & last hit effectiveness get Gaunntlets else you feel its enough you need more MP to stun/spare for reincartion..get Mantles

Results:
Magic Stick+Gauntlets/Mantles x2(or 1 of each)=500
or
Just Magic Wand=484

103 spare if you want pots get a Healing Slave/1-3x Clarity potions..else get 2xGG Branch but i only got 103 gold ..simple..stay @ base awhile after creep spawn wait till u got 106 & get 2 GG branch lol

Results 2:
1-2x Healing Slave/1-2x Tangoes+1-2x Clarity potions+Gauntlets/Mantles x2(or 1 of each)=
Most cheap: 1x Tango+1x Clarity+others=440
Most exp: 2x Healing Slave+3x Clarity+Others=850(lol i dun think u really nid this so crazy)

extra money can get some GG branches
